Abaya length by height
The right length is the one thing that makes an abaya look made for you. Too long and it drags on the floor and gets dirty; too short and it shows your trousers. Here's how to pick the length that suits your height.

Quick answer: length for your height
Our abayas come in four lengths, measured from the top of the shoulder to the hem. As a starting point:
- Up to 5'0": 52 inches (S)
- 5'1" – 5'2": 54 inches (M)
- 5'3" – 5'4": 56 inches (L)
- 5'5" and above: 58 inches (XL)
How to measure at home
- Wear the shoes you usually wear with an abaya.
- Stand straight against a wall and ask someone to help.
- Measure from the top of your shoulder, beside the neck, straight down to where you want the hem. Most women like it to sit just above the floor, covering the top of the shoes.
- Compare that number with the lengths above and pick the nearest one.
Between two sizes?
Go longer if you usually wear heels or khussas with a raised heel, and shorter if you wear flat chappals or trainers. If neither feels right, choose a custom length at checkout and we'll stitch it to the length you give us.
Length also changes with the style. An open front abaya worn as a coat can sit an inch shorter without looking wrong, while a closed everyday abaya looks best close to the floor.
Shoulder and chest
Once you know your length, check the shoulder and chest on our size chart. Abayas are cut loose, so the chest only needs to be comfortable over your clothes; the shoulder matters more, because it decides where the sleeves fall.

What length abaya for 5 feet 2 inches?
54 inches (size M) suits most women around 5'1" to 5'2". Choose 56 inches if you'll wear heels.
What length abaya for 5 feet 5 inches?
58 inches (size XL) suits most women 5'5" and taller. If you're taller than 5'8", choose a custom length.
Is abaya length measured from the shoulder?
Yes. Abaya length is measured from the top of the shoulder, beside the neck, down to the hem.
What if the length is wrong?
